Re: Contributory Parent Visa - Still Sparkling!!! - Part 4

Just routine Les, in order to comply with current legislation, tax anti-forestalling rules, money laundromat technicalities, Bank of England regulations and all that rather tedious red-tape. Be...

Re: Contributory Parent Visa - Still Sparkling!!! - Part 4

Now why would anyone choose Somerset as a front, given all the other counties to choose from? Or is this perhaps a double bluff on my part? Evil laughter fades into distance.....

Re: Contributory Parent Visa - Still Sparkling!!! - Part 4

Gordon Bennett, how much stronger can the dollar become? $1.597 now - less if we're unlucky enough to actually want to buy any.

And that's partly thanks to Australian politicians falling over...

Re: Contributory Parent Visa - Still Sparkling!!! - Part 4

Sooner or later someone's going to come up with Parents in South Sydney on Feeble Finances.

When that happens we'll know we've scraped the barrel - and found what you always find at the bottom of...

Re: Contributory Parent Visa - Still Sparkling!!! - Part 4

That's good news Matt and I hope it's not north of the border! We all need somewhere to see out this exchange rate storm really. I hope we'll be able to start earning dollars which together with my...

Re: Contributory Parent Visa - Still Sparkling!!! - Part 4

Hey you're in good company - our first grandchild was born in May 2008 and we got there a few days before the birth! Unforgettable!

It's just an expression, one-way, after all. It means that...

Re: What happens to UK bank accounts?

We'll keep our property here (we still have a daughter in England) until the spring at least. It saves us having to do too much this time around. Otherwise I'd certainly use family, as you plan to....

Re: Contributory Parent Visa - Still Sparkling!!! - Part 4

Dear all

You know it suddenly becomes much easier now that we have a date to work to - prior to that it feels like we're drifting. The search for memory foam is on!

Cheers

Re: Contributory Parent Visa - Still Sparkling!!! - Part 4

Re: Contributory Parent Visa - Still Sparkling!!! - Part 4

I'll have knuckles rapped for overt pessimism now, deservedly so.

Hey ho.:D

Re: What happens to UK bank accounts?

In the spirit of supporting our banks and their rules which are so vital for the preservation of humankind, I would say don't tell them. A UK address would of course make it easier.

Once validated, the visa will expire 5 years after...

Re: Contributory Parent Visa - Still Sparkling!!! - Part 4
