in that scenario everyone will go buy USD not GBP. i dont expect GBP-AUD to fluctuate that much unless the RBA decide enuf is enuf and will crash the AUD.

oh it could hurt local industries? oz govt should oppose it and RBA should fund overseas central bank purchases of AUD thru QE!

ambitious. as long as the bank of england keeps on printing electonic monies to fund a £1Trillion revolving debt dont expect it to come above the £1=$1.99 mark.

i know. when central banks around the world start buying AUDs due to flight to (perceived) quality, the RBA can't do much unless strict active FX controls are implemented.

S&P threatened to downgrade the US "AAA' rating
but I think it will unwind back closer to parity when the US starts tightening its belt
