We were seduced by that back in 2008 when we moved to Point Cook, big, new houses with all the mod cons. Ended up not using 2 bedrooms, a lounge and bathroom for the whole time we were there.

Yes, in Point Cook the only zoned public secondary school (Point Cook Senior Secondary College) is very poor. They are not particularly academic focused and even have schemes for studying trades....

Plus the $20k+ per annum per child for secondary schooling, unless you want you kids to end up as tradies or in a gang.

Yes, but there are plenty of more establish suburbs that are a hell of a lot better than living out west.

Great for singles/couples - for families there are better places IMO. And a 4 bedroom home close to the CBD - you'll need very deep pockets for the property and the private schools as there are...

Yes, Point Cook and the west are not great locations. It's livable, and yes I understand many people are forced there due to cost of living in the East/North, but it's nothing special at all.
