Good point - in order to be valid, ALL letters cancelling ALL contracts must be sent by LRAR within France and recorded delivery from abroad.
If you deliver the documents by hand, ask for a written...

Télécharger Formulaire 5000 en anglais (gratuit) (http://droit-finances.commentcamarche.net/download/telecharger-72-formulaire-5000-en-anglais)
gives the English version of this Cerfa form....
