Isn't that strange considering how much the italians like 'bitter'.....as in Campari/Aperol etc. I remember the first time I tasted Crodino and I nearly spat it out :p Marmalade isn't that much...

Lucky you Hadenough - I absolutely love porridge. I've got about 3 packets of quaker microwave porridge left. I may have to go and visit some Essalungas near me now :p

No Duffer. I just put the packs straight into the freezer. When I want to use them I just take them out, leave them on the worktop for a couple of hours and its ready. It actually goes slightly...

I know Lorna but I stick it in the freezer ! I didnt see the fudge - shame cos my sons go mad for it. I have discovered Maltesers in Eurospin - not sure if you have any of those in your area....

My son came home yesterday with "prickly aubergines" . I had never seen them before and have been on the internet today to find out how to peel them and cook them. They are weird ! Apparantely...

I think they were about 2.25 - ish. Compared to the big block they sell in Lidl for 2.99 I suppose its a bit dear but Lidl only have it once or twice a year.
I did buy some though.

Been to Carrefour and just found a packet of Cheddar Slices for hamburgers.
There are 9 slices and they are orange in colour and made in The Netherlands :huh:

same here - my kids insist we always have some in the cupboard. Makes great toast (by that i mean toast and JAM... not ham and cheese )
I know its not fresh but it beats any of the other imitation...

thanks guys :) Not sure where there is a Metro in Turin but I'll find it.

I used my last packet of M&S crumpets today :( now I'll have to learn how to make them !)

Hats off to you jonwel - I saw this done on the bbc this weekend and it looked really hard and fussy to do sourdough !
Does anyone know if you can get filo pastry here - is Pasta brisee the same...

Sorry - I'm like 37100 - that is I dont have a favourite. I did find one in the backstreets behind Porta Nuova on the side of Via Sacchi. they had Heinz Beans for 1 euro and all sorts of nice things....

I think I have seen set yogurts in little glass jars but cant remember where. I usually shop at Penny Market, Lidl or sometimes SMA/Auchan and Carrefour - so it must be one of them ;)

not sure 37100 but every time I've been in France I've found them - and in Briancon there are apparently quite a few supermarkets including Geant and Champion.

I got PG tips in Milan and they...

YOu could either try the Chinese shops down in turin (i get my pg tips at the Chinese shop in Milan ) or esle drive over the border to Briancon and go to one of the french supermarkets cos they sell...

My daughter brings me PG tips from Milan. She gets them from one of those Asian mini-markets near Via Paolo Sarpi. A box of 40 is just 1.60 euros - not bad ey :) I cant find them here in Turin...

When I first met my OH, he introduced me to tortellini con panna e funghi
(tortellini with cream and mushrooms) I ate it and fell in love ;) There are many pasta dishes made with 'panna' :)
