Unfortunately rising rates are only happening for borrowers in the UK, not savers (yet), if official rates rise later in the year that should change.

Didn't know about that one, its a temporary visa, only 10,500 granted each year and bachelor degree required.

I still don't want to live there ;)

Good luck with it, we thought about an EB-5 visa but concluded that while its a fun place to visit it can't compare with Aus as a place to live.

Not me, I'm not going. Have visited the states about 15 times though, even ignoring the dire economic straits the US is in, I'll take Australia anytime.

So, on what basis do you plan to get a visa...

True, if you work on Wall St you'll be fine, unless the mob lynches you but almost everyone else will suffer a reduction in standard of living, due the the enormous national debt.

Think Ireland...

Starting work makes a huge difference. I was lucky to have work lined up and started the week after landing but even then the startup costs (which obviously we converted pounds for),...
