For that kind of budget you could live well almost anywhere in the country... except London I guess....

A long way from anywhere but Penzance is quite affordable, as is Pembrokeshire.

It also has a lot of shopping without having to leave town M&S, Waitrose, Tesco Extra, Robbs department store etc. Also some decent restaurants, new hospital and leisure centre and a cinema, right...

Don't forget Alnmouth, Blanchland, Haltwhistle, Warkworth, Bamburgh.... You might have guessed I'm a big fan of Northumberland!

Hexham isn't the cheapest, but Alnwick is surprisingly affordable... Having said this they are all much more affordable than their southern England equivalents!

They are all in the 8 to 10k population range but have plenty of shops and restaurants and lots of character! Especially Alnwick with it's castle and garden.
