Ditto to above. Once we can pay the mortgage, have enough money to pay the bills - we'll be VERY happy. Its the lifestyle we are looking forward to. No need to check the TV guide every day to see...

I remember coming across jobs for HGV drivers when I took a look at www.seek.com.au. They sometimes give salaries with these so this could give you an idea.

Yeah, we're the same. My OH has made enquires about salaries for his job and they are starting off at about 43-45k. He would make the equivalent of about 70K dollars if we made the conversion.

My sister wants us to move as close as we can to her but the house prices...

Thanks for that. Its really hard totting up the sums here before we go. Luckily we will have money from the sale of our house to get us started. Looks like I'll have to get a part time job - or move...

Just wondering about the cost of living. My husband is a photocopier engineer and most of the sites I've seen say he'll be able to earn about 50Kdollars. This seems quite low when we convert but...
