Re: Broadchurch and Other UK TV Programs

Yes, I remember it very well :) The books too - I have read them all, but not for many years.

There has been loads of promotion/publicity about the new show and it made me feel quite old when the...

Re: Broadchurch and Other UK TV Programs

I'm kind of with your OH on Broadchurch - I shall probably stick with it to see the outcome, but some aspects I find very irritating.

Don't read the next comments if you don't want spoilers!

Re: Broadchurch and Other UK TV Programs

I think I shall stick with Wolf Hall for at least a couple more episodes. I did find it a bit hard going with the flitting between time settings, but otherwise I quite enjoyed it.

I've read some...

Re: Broadchurch and Other UK TV Programs

Something of an antidote to the dark, gritty murder stuff around - I watched a documentary on BBC 4 last night filmed on Scafell Pike over a year. Stunningly beautiful :)

BBC Four - Life of a...

Re: Broadchurch and Other UK TV Programs

Re: Broadchurch and Other UK TV Programs

I've solved that particular dilemma by watching 'Happy Valley' now, then I shall watch Corrie on ITV +1 :D

Re: Broadchurch and Other UK TV Programs

I watched From Here to There and I didn't think there were any scenes in it that came anywhere near to the graphic/disturbing scenes in Happy Valley.

Re: Broadchurch and Other UK TV Programs

I think that's BBC 2 as well? They do seem to do these light weight things quite well... the estate agent show is on in the same slot that had a similar show about council planning departments and...

Re: Broadchurch and Other UK TV Programs

I've been enjoying the BBC2 show 'Under Offer: Estate Agents on the Job' - a fly on the wall around estate agents.

It's pretty vacuous, but easy watching for some light entertainment - the star...

Re: Broadchurch and Other UK TV Programs

Yeah, he was a bit weird :D He's an MP (or maybe an ex MP, not too sure..)

I didn't care for the way he kept referring back to his own experiences in Afghanistan etc... and I didn't really like...

Re: Broadchurch and Other UK TV Programs

I noticed that too ... I don't remember anyone pronouncing it like that all the time when I lived in Scotland :)

When we watch the show, we have a little sweepstake going as to what time in the...

Re: Broadchurch and Other UK TV Programs

Yes, I'm watching Silk - I'm a bit conflicted about it...on the one hand, I'm a fan of Maxine Peake (she seems to have done a few things on the radio lately too).. and I find Rupert Penry-Jones very...

Re: Broadchurch and Other UK TV Programs

Yes, I thought Downton was a tad dull this year... didn't hold my attention, I was half watching it and reading at the same time. No spoiler, but I couldn't work out why Lady Rose's mother wasn't...
