Re: Medicare time!

I really don't know much about the levels of fraud, or the 'rate' differences. If it costs Medicare 15% more to have a person on an 'Advantage' plan, I would have thought they would try to discourage...

Re: Medicare time!

I don't support the 'advantage' plans or the insurance companies that administer them, but in fairness, the idea of paying a lump sum is to stop them from doing procedures that are medically...

Re: Medicare time!

I'll find out what the g/f's plan is. I believe it's with UHC.

Re: Medicare time!

This could well be the visit that will get 'coded' and will update your risk adjusted score. When I was involved, it had to be a 'nurse practitioner', I believe (didn't have to be a doctor, but had...

Re: Medicare time!

I had the dubious honor of working for a company that was involved in doing 'risk adjustment' for MA plans. The penalties for falsifying / exaggerating the 'scores' are severe. But the great irony is...

Re: Medicare time!

I believe the bolded part is true. The fee paid by the government to the plan is based on demographics, and is quite complex. The biggest factor is the 'risk adjustment score' of each individual...
