We deliver computers to employee's homes sometimes via FedEx or DHL; we have had more than one occasion where the item was delivered to the wrong address ... even when we have had 'signature...

The post office is an interesting example of a govt. entity that seems pretty well run.

We have fabulous choices here - UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc - and NONE of them are obligated to deliver to all...

I don't currently have a choice - I work for company 'x', and company 'x' has a contract with insurance company 'y'. No amount of complaining by me will change my company's relationship with ins.co....

I'm very concerned with the system here as I get older and face possible unemployment (for reasons stated above) but I will also say that both I and my girlfriend have received fabulous coverage...

Good points, but for me I don't have family to help me (as an ex-pat) so my biggest motivations are insurance (as you state) and - preservation of savings. For the first time ever in my 25 years...
