Gardnerville traditionally is cheaper than Carson City also, especially the two Arcos. I usually try to avoid filling up in Reno for obvious reasons.

Regular is around $3.50 out here, unfortunately all but one of our cars take premium and that's between $3.70 at Costco and over $4 if you go to the wrong Chevron station.

Keep in mind that's not only CA, a bunch of bordering states like NV get all their petrol from CA refineries, too, even though we don't have the same emissions standards.

That would explain a few things...

The gas station close to our house has bumped up prices by close to 20c within a week or so.

For those who like to complain about CA gas prices...

$4.99 for regular last night at the Shell in Bridgeport, CA. For some odd reason I wasn't too unhappy that my old Honda CRX can do Carson City...

Had to stop at Shell on the way to work, the good stuff was $4.099 but then again the car only needed ~8gal.

Gone up here by a good ten cents within less than a week - I filled up my old CRX for $3.19 at Costco Wednesday last week, yesterday it was up to $3.29.

Prices here are slowly going down but filling up at the Shell in town still cost me something like $4.68 for 91.

They had (IIRC) one refinery fire and one other refinery shutdown in CA recently, that's what's supposedly affecting prices in CA and also over the border here (we get pretty much all the petrol out...

It's hovering close to $4/gallon out here at the cheaper end again. Unfortunately muggins here managed to injure his foot so I can't use the bike to get to work. 50mpg (US) would be really nice right...

Around here it's 3.91 at the cheapest station (which charges a debit card fee). I filled up for 3.99 at a station that doesn't charge extra fees.

I had to make a quick trip to the Bay Area yesterday - talk about sticker shock when you see 87 hover around 4.40-4.50/gal in places along the way.

Yup. I stand out around here because I tend to ride in full protective gear even in summer. But then again, what do I know? It took me only six weeks last year to get over the average annual bike...

For normal driving I have an old Miata that tends to get over 30mpg on my commute and a motorbike that gets over 50mpg. With those two I don't care that much about fuel cost but neither of them has...

The rip-off gas station in Stateline, NV upped the prices again to $4.66/gal yesterday...

Filled up yesterday at one of the local non-cheap stations for $4.04/gal regular :eek:. The el cheapo stations are still at around $3.87-$3.90.

Shell station in town (well, village) is at $3.99/gallon for regular, $4.21 for premium and the cheap stations around $3.80.

Of course the "how the heck do they get away with that" station on the...

I paid 4.0something a few days ago at the local shell when I had to fill up the Miata on the way to work. Mind you, at 31-33mpg it doesn't hurt quite as badly as filling up the winter beater Jeep...

Local and state taxes, I would guess.

The gas stations east of Yosemite close to the entrance at Tioga Pass were charging up to $5 for regular earlier this week...
