I still have 260000 US Airways / AA miles that expire in 6 months.

Is the best way to get them to renew to just but another 1000 for $30?

Trying hard to remember, was something like $400 scheme similar to the one we used to use for this thread but for getting good hotels cheap.....

Just a heads up o availability - I tried to get flights from Rio to LHR and they found nothing! She kept saying that because they are leaving the star alliance their partners were cutting available...

Great idea, looking at them now. Seems they have some good routes form Brazil.

I take it they are more accommodating with award booking than TAM?

Just got a ticket to South America for $800 AUD

Qantas - Sydney to Santiago = $3000 AUD.
Qantas - Auckland to Santiago via Sydney = $1320 AUD (work that one out!!)

Use 60k...
