Didn't front load - hubby applied for his police check about a week before sending his application in (mid Jan) and there was a bit of faffing about as he nearly needed a Canadian...

I don't know why they don't just ask for the medical and police check up front - if you read literally they say to wait, but only from this thread did I realise that frontloading was a good idea. ...

hey smellycat - I asked people at customs about this and if you are travelling with a family member - husband etc or kids, you can all go in the same queue. I usually work it to the best advantage...

Thanks Jutang - I am off in 10 weeks (end April) via a long visit with my family in NZ, then hubby is joining me on June 2nd!
