Likewise, I pay for travel insurance every year when I go home, I'm not a resident now so I can't get free NHS care. That's the rules. Simples.

Not being up on all the rules around UK visas and SS - presumably she will need medical insurance to cover this? And what happens if mother or baby have to stay in hospital?
