I sometimes wonder, while working the 38 hours a week which is all I am allowed to work at present according to my contract, how anyone can possibly be so blinkered..........:rolleyes:

Most of them only read those two threads, so unless there is a link posted for them they are unlikely to venture in here.....not sure why, we have often tried to include them in the wider "forum...

Not always possible. In an office job where they don't pay overtime you are limited to how many paid hours you can work. In my job at present I could willingly work 80 hours a week, & there's enough...

I am aware of the fact that the UK has a minimum wage, I don't see where that comes into this discussion.

I consider it an insult to suggest that people are lazy if they do not earn the amount...

I wouldn't be so sure, judging by the reaction on here and other forums from people both abroad and in the UK still.

Many people in the UK will argue that "immigration is out of control" etc etc,...

I wouldn't mind betting that the majority of tax paying Brits are unaware of the implications for their fellow countrymen and women.

I have no assets at all, will be on minimum super cos I can't afford to pay extra into it, and only have 18 years of UK State pension. Yet I'm told that will make me ineligible for an Aussie State...

He would have to live in the UK to become a citizen.

The Aussie State pension would be largely irrelevant - its not payable unless you are in Aus just before retirement age, you need to have lived...
