The specified date is linked to police checks and Meds - make sure you still have time after the wedding to get the application in for the next stage, the temp spouse visa.

Don't put stuff into wallets. everything is scanned, so if you make it easy for them by sending loose sheets they'll be happy. wallet, staples etc just slow down the scanning process :)

If you sent them your passport, there's a fairly good chance that they won't email you, just sent back the passport.....with the visa in it....fingers crossed for you :)

Little tip for those of you not marrie/de facto for long enough to get PR straight away - in two years time when you get the papers to fill in for your PR, you will need to fill in 886 and 80 again....

Any kind of medical issue has to be referred to Sydney. Mild asthma won't cause a refusal, it just needs to be signed of by someone in the medical field, rather than an ordinary case officer. Nothing...

Its just that, it can be any time from a couple of days - straightforward application, no issues to iron out, literally granted by trunaround of post - up to a few months - if there are issues...
