No, the service is for both. YOU ask the agent to find you somewhere to rent. They take you to a few until you find one you like.

Obviously the landlord wins as well, as he is able to rent out...

You certainly should if you ask them to find you a rental property - they are carrying out a service for you.

However, there is a lot of controversy over this with many saying the landlord should...

Please read the rental laws (LAU) before renting in Spain.

Rental contracts automatically renew for up to 5 years now.
NEVER pay more than 1 months rent up-front
Security deposits are ONLY 1...
