Re: The world of automation

Thanks. Where that was taken, there was no aerodome nearby. It seems to be most important to not be within 5 kilometers of one. Next being outside of a large city area. Followed by people in...

Re: The world of automation

I got a drone last week. Amazing piece of tech and incredibly easy to fly. Quite a lot of common sense rules around it which means you have to travel a bit to use it.

Here is my first video.

Re: The world of automation

Sweden now introduced a ban on all drones equipped with cameras. An exception can be applied for but most likely to get denied as it would need to be in the interest of public safety or something. ...

Re: The world of automation

Fixed wing is a strange direction to go in. They can't compete with DJI for quadcopters but this does faster and longer flight time for similar money. I'd definitely crash it though and you'd...

Re: The world of automation

Battle of the drones is really heating up. Both GoPro and DJI announced new drones within the past week or two. I don't have a drone but when you see the DJI Mavic Pro, it's hard to not be curious....

Re: The world of automation

I've read that police used a robot to disarm a man with a gun. A smarter future would be sending drones to respond to domestic violence or street hooliganism calls. Drones would need to be capable...

Re: The world of automation

How about Sony, Westpac and the many others that got hacked? It's very naive to believe they just go out of business. They get over the Pr nightmare, hand out some discounted or free service and...

Re: The world of automation

But accepting privacy to be a non issue leaves the door open for even more exposure. There is really no penalty these days for a company to have poor security controls which leads to massive leaks...

Re: The world of automation

But it isn't blown out of the water. People should have a right to privacy even if we're not doing any wrong. Plus, you're relying on these corporations to take responsible care of your data. It's...

Re: The world of automation

Battery life is lasting 2 and a half days and then Samsung owners are rushing for a hospital.

Maybe just once in a while do some research. iPhones can last two days easily. The latest iPhone 5.5...

Re: The world of automation

I think that could kill it actually. For a tracking free, no advertising search engine it would have to be community funded and for zero profit.

Re: The world of automation

The way you generalise is just too weird. Those looking for privacy are business haters? When you decide to rejoin our planet, let us know.

Google became incredibly popular because of the word...

$2 billion is no small...
