I think all of that family are still banned in New York, including gooseberries. We have wild gooseberries popping up everywhere in our yard, very tasty they are too. I assume it's only an offence...

Well, like most places, there's good & bad - most of the Bronx is perfectly civilised. Zoo, botanical gardens, several excellent colleges & universities, beautiful parks etc....

Well, I've never heard of this anywhere in New York. Folks in NYS dry their laundry outside, grow noxious weeds galore (including luxuriant stands of Japanese knotweed) and park junked cars...

I fly Air Canada Ottawa to London frequently, and always select an aisle seat at the back, easy to get to the toilet with no trolley in the way. However, downside is, on the Ottawa to London night...

I'm no great fan of American ground meat/sausage products. Hopefully Walmart put this one back on display, maybe it'll taste better than the others. (Not saying much either way..)

Hmm .. I think Tesco now have the "Everyday Value" equivalent to Plax considerably cheaper. Of course, getting Americans to use Tesco "Everyday Value" products can be problematic, I've found.

Marketing and product placement. I don't have TV, but I'll bet those brand name toothpastes like Crest are advertised on TV while Pepsodent, at 99c a tube, is not. Crest et al have big displays on...
