Don't you believe it judging by how many shifts can't be covered. Q6 and Brisbane are understaffed, we have had rucks of people leaving since the new style of management came in.

I wouldn't join anyone until you get here.

There is also an association called EMSPA who act for ambulance officers here. There is great rivalry between the two mobs and lots of bad feeling.

On the coalface everyone is p*ssed off, we are the worst paid ambos in Oz and the leadership shown in upper QAS is poor and borders on aggressive.

On our induction the press chick said that the press often told DES publicity dept who their sources were. They said that the press made no effort to withold their sources names!!

From expats forums I understand that you are not comitted to any employer as you gain permanent residency as soon as you arrive.

SA do pay more than QAS, they have some UK managers now I hear.

Is it true that they have just rejected a 25% pay offer? They are already earning more than QAS and have a better rota.

Some people on my station get 52-54k as a P3 without working their days off. That was on the old rota, the new rota is hated by most staff. The old was 4 on and 4 off which meant you had more time...
