We have so far had a good experience with White and Company - they're delivering the stuff to us here in Melbourne tomorrow, so will let you know if it goes well at this end too!

Don't know if this helps but I had my meds referred to Sydney too - apprently they do this for any blips at all, from mild asthma upwards, so if anyone has any minor ailments that might explain...

Your validation date is one year from when you got your Police checks or meds done, whichever is sooner. So, for example, if you get your meds done on October 31st 2007, and your Police checks are...

yes I'm afraid it is 47sp, and its one of many long forms you'll be filling out, so may as well get used to it!!:lol:
Every time I got asked for further info by my CO, another long form was attached...

Just be aware it can take a little while if you have any issues on your med at all, from mild asthma type complaints upwards apparently, as they will have to be referred to Sydney for a decision. ...

Going via my sister in Nashville, USA (12 years since we last saw each other), then on to Perth for 3 weeks over Christmas at his brother's, then back to Melbourne for one mother of a party about...

Same here Penky - he's only got 44 days left on his UK visa, and my Aussie one is not here yet :(
I wouldn't have thought of it being a problem till you mentioned it...let's hope charb and medway...

Yes the Police checks form is 1101 - I've linked it for you here (http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/pdf/1101.pdf).

Form 888 is a form (get it from immi.gov.au) that you get your friends or family to fill in to say your relationship is genuine and ongoing. Its only 2 pages long and is quite straightforward...

You need form 1101 from the Dimia website - here! (http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/pdf/1101.pdf)
And payment of $36.
It is a bit easier, and a LOT quicker, than getting the UK one!

I lived there with my hubby before we came back to the UK (as well as St Andrews, Hurstbridge, Plenty, Carlton, etc).

Yes, the Visa goes to Australia House on the Strand if you're applying from the UK.
You may or may not have to be interviewed, at the discretion of your CO!
They will also advise you of the date...

Yes, Rach - I'd definitely recommend getting one now, it took almost a month to sort, and if I'd known I could have frontloaded that.
It says on the form that if you spent 12 months or more in Oz,...
