i would ditch the recruitment company and either apply for jobs yourself (via monster etc) or do a quick 2-3 week trip on a VWP and look for work here.

i probably spent about 6 months looking for...

1) no they are not applicable.

2) tax returns, any bills that are in your name would be good. Basically anything that can "tie" you back to australia is applicable here. Any kind of recurring...

1. Correct. The LCA needs to be filled out and signed by your employer. You will take the LCA to the consulate.

2. You are complicating the issue. Quite simply, get your employer to file the LCA...

They accept US dollars only i believe. If you bring $100USD in cash you will be fine.

My passport was from 2004 so its not one of the newer ones.

I stayed at the Greenwood Inn, it was a 16 Canadian dollar cab ride to the consulate. They also had a free shuttle bus service that would take you to and from the airport. Im sure there would be...
