Re: The Comfort Zone. Favourite food, drinks, where to buy, and recipes.

I buy it from a local producer. Tastes like a solid ricotta. Not rubbery at all.. I cube it and add it to salad.

Re: Any source for these goodies?

Mike, you can get the Twinnings ginger and lemon here. Pampadour also do one, but I've never tried it. I don't use sesame oil, try the ethnic shops for it.

Re: The Comfort Zone. Favourite food, drinks, where to buy, and recipes.

I find Asiago, although softer, to be a good substitute. I prefer the kind with a black rind as it has more flavour. Piave does the job, too, but I'm guessing that it might not be available...

Re: The Comfort Zone. Favourite food, drinks, where to buy, and recipes.

True, you need to get friendly with a butcher. Our one in Turin will get you anything. OH'S uncle buys belly of pork Asti way to make his own copatta.

There used to be a place in Turin that...

Tried them at Xmas. They were handing them out in town. Haven't seen them in the shops yet though, but maybe that's for the better.

They decided that there wasn't a market for their product. Primary is planning on opening this year. If they succeed, wonder if the prices will differ.

Lorna, we have 2! Almost three. If you ever go to the Corte Venete it's not far from there, but if you do go there, they sell cheddar. :)

Re: The Comfort Zone. Favourite food, drinks, where to buy, and recipes.

Out of curiosity, I bought the Esselunga slices. The actual weren't that bad. 10 slices - €1.99.

Re: The Comfort Zone. Favourite food, drinks, where to buy, and recipes.

I'm not that keen on it because it contains soya flour which I don't like, but it's the toast and sarnie bread here too. :)

Re: The Comfort Zone. Favourite food, drinks, where to buy, and recipes.

You'll need a card to get in because it's wholesale. If you don't have one, ask around. Someone will have it. We can't get bacon in Esselunga/Lidl here, but Metro sells a kilo back of Tulip for...

Re: The Comfort Zone. Favourite food, drinks, where to buy, and recipes.

Re: The Comfort Zone. Favourite food, drinks, where to buy, and recipes.

Re: The Comfort Zone. Favourite food, drinks, where to buy, and recipes.

I've seen it in frozen, Patty. Pasta Fillo. Never used it though.

A few months ago, someone passed a recipe on to me for pastry. I was sceptical at first, but it was a success. I've always...

Re: The Comfort Zone. Favourite food, drinks, where to buy, and recipes.

The Auchan in Venaria has an ethnic aisle with spices and beans, but the beans have a heafty price tag. Esselunga has a brand of beans that are worth trying and they sell HP sauce. You should also...
