Well i cant be bothered now, whenever i go to the prefecture i come out grumpy. So i avoid going, same for the Bank modern day highwaymen.

Passport required for checks in Toulouse but not the small towns, and ID is reqired when picking up things from La Poste. Here they wont even let you sign for next doors stuff. Its 09 Ariege.

When we first came it was still required by the time we had got all the paper work together and went to the prefecture we got told to bugger off in a semi polite fashion. But slowly life is being...

Out of date it is only required for Non EU nationals. If you go to the Prefecture they will not give you one.
