Re: Real Estate commission....is it negotiable?

Re: Real Estate commission....is it negotiable?

Re: Real Estate commission....is it negotiable?

I've been to see a brilliant house in Truro tonight that the couple want to try and sell privately first. If after three months they cannot sell they plan to list with me. In the meantime they have...

Re: Real Estate commission....is it negotiable?

I was in the health service for over 20 years too. Yes, the pay is terrible for the benefit people receive.

I'm not sure on your figures - out of $7000 commission for a sale I would only get $1750...

Re: Real Estate commission....is it negotiable?

What slanging match? Maybe I've missed something.

Anyway, I can't come out to play today as I have to prepare for a presentation this afternoon at a house in Truro. I work around 12 hours a day, 7...

Re: Real Estate commission....is it negotiable?

I was on BE long before I became involved in real estate, advising people on the Community Identified route of immigration to Nova Scotia, of which I have great knowledge, and which is still the...

Re: Real Estate commission....is it negotiable?

No you don't appreciate it at all, you've just ignored it. Once again, real estate agents are liable for the contracts they construct, not the lawyers. They have to check conditions are fulfilled,...

Re: Real Estate commission....is it negotiable?

You need a more expensive lawyer. Real estate agents and brokerages are liable for the contracts they construct, not the lawyers. Commissions are split between the Buyer and Seller agents, so it...

Re: Real Estate commission....is it negotiable?

Maybe an agent would have valued it at $50000 more and sold it in three weeks.

Re: Real Estate commission....is it negotiable?

Out or context. Old Bag already had six helpful replies and chose to ignore them.

The Broker is overall responsible for all contracts and is equally as liable as the salesperson who represents...

But that's her/his username!!!!! "Old Bag" It's like a play on words - Shakespeare did it a lot in Hamlet.

Re: Real Estate commission....is it negotiable?

6% in Nova Scotia is the current norm (though often 5%) but for high end properties/multiple properties, flat fees and lower rates can apply. It is unusual for a single agent to receive 6% as it is...

Re: Real Estate commission....is it negotiable?

The rules in Nova Scotia would not allow this - we have to give at least three alternate practitioners for people to choose from.
