Re: Schools, teachers, kids and parents. Education in general.

Yeah same here, I remember we were always going on school trips and outings during primary school: city farm (Dean City), children's theatre (Wimbledon), nature reserve, museums, sewage works,...

Re: Schools, teachers, kids and parents. Education in general.

I'm not Catholic and my OH is non-practising but the nuns really do look after the kids and at both these schools, they cook the lunches themselves rather than having outside caterers, which I think...

Re: Schools, teachers, kids and parents. Education in general.

Re: Schools, teachers, kids and parents. Education in general.

This has reminded me about a teacher I know. Last year I was chatting to one of the other fathers after dropping the kids off to school in the morning and we were debating the 40 hour week for the...

Re: Schools, teachers, kids and parents. Education in general.

I thought 1066 was the last time England won the World Cup. Shows you how much I was paying attention. So what happened in the 15th century?

4th day of primary school for DS today, he seems to be...

Re: Schools, teachers, kids and parents. Education in general.

He actually goes to a Catholic school at the moment and the logical step would be to continue this path but the middle school is in the mornings only. In the next town there is the option of sending...

Re: Schools, teachers, kids and parents. Education in general.

Re: Schools, teachers, kids and parents. Education in general.

Re: Schools, teachers, kids and parents. Education in general.

Are teachers allowed to give sweets to school kids? Wow!
In my day if you got sweets from the teacher it would mean you'd get a sore arse shortly afterwards. I'm not saying I got abused. I just...

Re: Schools, teachers, kids and parents. Education in general.

Cars parked all over the place this morning, triple parked even in some places and gangs of parents standing around gates overflowing onto the road in front - bloody schools have started again!

Re: Schools, teachers, kids and parents. Education in general.
