Thats only if you've paid over $2500 tax in the previous year though;)

Re. the exchange rate, you could ask them to pay you a fixed NZ Dollar rate, then they get the fluctuation, not you. (works...

I still work for my old UK employer 2 1/2 years in!!!
They sorted out a UK tax exemption for me, took a few letters & phone calls to sort out apparently.
