Your point is good.

I was not around in the 50's or 60's to see the gap so I will not comment further on that.

I do think that over the next 5 to 10 years the Canadian Economy is better placed...

Yes- also for cross country ski-ing (amazing calorie burner) you do not need big slopes just a good track and lots of powder.

Where are you based in Ontario in relation to Toronto and where are you headed to ski?

Something I am keen to get involved in when I get over is spending several long weekends up Blue Mountain.

I would recommend Ontario- near Guelph or Waterloo. Good job opportunities-Good amenities and very well priced housing. The only downside is they have a "Big Freeze" for around 3 months of the year...

Southweat London is a nice part of the world to be in. It is quite safe with excellent ammenities.

I can think of hundreds of safer places- Manchester is a terrible place to live. Just venture up the road to Salford or go for a run in Platt Fields after 9pm.

Yes it's easy to attach a cost to food, housing etc and say that the standard of living isn't much different. But unless you are a victim of crime you cannot measure it's cost. Canada with out...

Mainly because I've heard the job market outside of Finance is still pretty good. And I lived there for a year on BUNAC so I know and like the city.

Further to this having been in the UK and in London the last 18 months I have seen how brutal the recession is. The reality is the UK will not see real growth...
