I filled my DS-157 out in PDF. But unless you have Acrobat Professional, you won't be able to save the document. So you got to make sure you print it as soon as you're done completing it.

Quick update, went back to consulate this morning with more documents. They told me everything was fine but they need to do security check and then they'll issue. They never asked me a single...

Had my E-3 visa interview at Calgary, Canada consulate. I was in the US for 5 weeks when I got my offer and decided to come here to shortcircuit things. Found the interview slot last Friday.
