Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Sure. You can buy property if you're a non resident too. You would have to be prepared to answer questions about non-immigrant intent if asked though.

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

I would seek advice from an attorney on that one - I would not accept the company's interpretation on that. I would not have thought you were okay to work but I do not know for sure. I always left...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

If USCIS twice has said that the E3 is valid until Feb 2017 (is that the expiration date on the actual visa in your passport?), I wouldn't worry about the previous LCA at all.

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Canada's a big place. You'd have to pick a consulate and check their processing time.

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Unsurprised that "office worker" didn't meet the criteria. Have never heard of emailing the consulate and not requiring an appointment though, that's weird. Which consulate?

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Well, it really doesn't matter to you if anyone else has, as the facts of your case are no doubt specific to you. If you meet the criteria for E3 visa, and can provide the required evidence, you...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

1. Yes it is much, much faster. Also cheaper. And you never know if you'll need to leave and reenter, stuff changes all the time where people need to travel home urgently.
2. You don't cancel...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Yes - it's been written in here. Book your appointment and take your chances, or travel to Australia, it's very simple really.

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

It would be much faster to just go to a consulate and get a new E3. It always takes several months to change visa categories or extend E3 visa within the US, and is always faster to get a new one.

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

I would have your employer overnight the signed one to you to take to the consulate.

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

I have always got my renewals in Toronto. I think part of the issue now is waiting time for an interview. I haven't actually seen an firsthand experiences written here about someone turning up and...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

One in Toronto they said the electronic pic didn't come through, and the machine in the consulate was on the fritz, so I had to leave the consulate and wander Toronto streets in winter looking for...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Transcript is fine. It's 99% likely they won't ask for anything except the LCA and job offer letter.

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Yep, I think that's what my first reply said. Once LCA ends, you're out of status.

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Yes - but every time I have entered the US with multiple E3's, they have written the same date as the expiration of the LCA. Since you said they stamped your passport on entry as June 2, I can't...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

If your employment ends 6/2/16 then that is the end date of your admission in general.

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

What would be the advantage of doing that? Why not just get them to do it when you are a citizen? How are you even becoming an Australian citizen when you're not residing in Australia?

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

I would expect you'd have to get a new one because the name of the employer is on the visa. You could change it in-country, but you'd still need to get a new visa sticker at the consulate if you left...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Just answered your question in my last post. You do NOT need an I-129 at all. I don't think I can be any clearer but I'll try. (there's not much point asking questions if you don't listen to the...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Sorry about your job :(

You don't need an I-129... best thing is to just get the LCA and job offer letter from them and make an appointment for a new E3. I went to Toronto the past couple of times...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Depending on where you're going to get your E3 (I went to Toronto the last few times), they literally just wanted to know what I did and a question or two about my employer. They never asked about...
