Re: A Lesson and Caution for all about E3 Visa

This is consistently written by people with no experience trying to do this and is NOT by any stretch of the imagination, "clear". The requirement for an E3 is NOT to maintain a residence outside the...

Re: E3 visa

You can't rely on the advice of people here to maintain legal status. Go to a lawyer with experience in E3 visa. I do believe you can apply to change status, which may give you some more time, even...

Re: E3 visa

Re: E3 visa

Sorry to hear you lost your job; that sucks :(

Good reminder for people to figure this stuff out before they come in on a status which has the 10 day thing.

I believe you technically "could"...

Re: E3 visa

Nope, I'm doing a masters as we speak whilst working fulltime on E3.

Only thing to consider is - you are not eligible for any federal financial aid nor most loans (unless you have a USC...

Re: E3 visa

You don't need to switch anything. You need to maintain current status, with a current LCA for whatever job you're working for.

Re: E3 visa

No, that's not what you said. What you said was "i also have an interview, to extend visa, booked in melbourne on dec 26th". That sounds to me like you intend to "extend" visa in melbourne?

Re: E3 visa

My understanding is that if USCIS receives the application for extension before the date your status expires, you are considered in status until the application is adjudicated (although if denied,...

Re: E3 visa

You did not answer the question asked. Did you get an approved visa to work for Company B, or did you just go there without it?

Re: E3 visa

IF the inital E3 is still valid you don't have to leave the US.

However, as Ian said, it depends if you accrued out-of-status time between jobs. My understanding is that you can hold 2x E3's at...

Re: E3 visa

Yes. The LCA requirements are clearly spelled out on the DOL website under H1B/E3.

As I said, that's all they got me.

Re: E3 visa

If the position meets the specialty occupation list, it would be okay (check the DOL website).

I have degrees in nursing but my job is as an engineer, but I also have experience in that field.
