Beautiful day out today at St. Andrew's market up North East of Melbourne. The market is quite a hippy affair and pretty friendly. Good food stalls and lots of gifty type stalls in leafy suroundings....

Ah, those rock pools are great!:) In the summer it is bad with flies around there, but now it would be fantastic.

It's about the same distance from here to Southlands as it is to Chaddy, but if I need to go to a shopping centre, it would always be Southlands. As compensation, a drive back up the beach road does...

Southland's isn't too bad in the scheme of things:)

And look on the bright side. You're close to great places like, Black Rock, Hampton, Sandringham, Mordialloc etc. :)

I've not been there....I've only been to the Syndal bakery on Blackburn Road....the woman in there is a bit like Mr Benn. One minute the shop is deserted, and the next she's stood right beside...

The further out from the CBD you go, the cheaper the rent....generally. Some area, especially catchments for desirable schools such as Mt Waverley and Balwyn, have skyrocketed in rents and house...

No worries. Don't discount renting around Glen Iris/Burwood/Ashburton/Ashwood etc, while you're looking for an area you want to permanently settle:)

No worries...and don't be hassled with renting. It can be a bit tough to find places in some areas but there are properties out there for those who are looking. I'd pick somewhere not too far out...

Sorry but I don't know those suburbs too good. However, a few points.

1.Commuting to CBD could be a pain if you have to use the freeways at rush hour and public transport is also packed at rush...

Well today I went to the CBD, had a mooch around the Thai festival in Fed Square (the food didn't seem as hot as last year, thankfully), and then went to the Southbank where I would have partaken in...

Good one, the spring here can be a bit dodgy weatherwise, but I reckon the worst time to come is the middle of summer, as it is the hardest to acclimatise.....that's when I turned up :rolleyes:
