I think when you compare Australian cities to the UK it should be done individually, the vastness of Australia means when you take say Perth and Western Australia for instance it should be compared...

I think cars are a bit different today than when you left the UK :) it's actually quite rare to see rust on cars these days and certainly nothing like it was 25 years ago.

My point was that with the UK system i could drive a cracking 3 year old car for just 5.5k sterling. In Australia i would be laying out over 3 times that for the same car. I would still be ahead even...

Fair point, but what i did like in the UK was that for example the last car i had was a Subaru Legacy, 2li, metalic blue paint, leather, climate control, 40k in immaculate condition inside and out...

Decent bread here in Melbourne costs $4-5, this is good bread not white paper bread. Bergen bread usual price $4.60 in the UK they sell for about 1.50 sterling.
I am not sure why most bread products...

Many people in the UK still have at least the same amount of income as they had before the recession. The difference is when sentiment and confidence changes they will be far more cautious in parting...
