In theory - CAD is mainly driven by commodities. As the global economy shows signs of recovery, oil price increase and so does the CAD.

CAD is up against USD - which sucks cause I get paid in USD...

Forget supply & demand - oil prices are driven by speculation.
It'll settle down once the media stops fueling the fire.

My advise - split the trade in two. Do half at something around 2.00-2.01 (depending on where spot is when you place order), then half at a few points higher. You can always adjust in a few days if...

I've just used Custom House to transfer GBP40k. They took 1 cent off the spot rate - don't think it was a great deal, but not bad either.
Wasn't impressed with our trader though, he was a bit...

According to my mortgage broker it won't have major impact on mortgage rates yet - "we're currently paying a premium because of the sub-prime problems in the USA. There is still about $150 billion...

Another 0.25 cut expected in Jan, but then who knows whats going to happen back in the UK....

You're talking about 2 different things:

1) Forward Contract. You buy a specific set exchange rate, for specific amount of $'s, for a set date. eg spot rate today is say 2.25, but expected to...
