Re: Is anyone else massively disappointed in Canada?

I rarely see any in BC.

Re: Is anyone else massively disappointed in Canada?

The official count for 2016 for this area is 411, the lowest in the 30 years they have been counting.

1994 was the best year with 3,769.

Re: Is anyone else massively disappointed in Canada?

While this year the count is way down, we usually get a huge population of bald eagles in Dec/Jan, but this year they didn't come in mass, but with the poor salmon conditions, isn't surprising, they...

Re: Is anyone else massively disappointed in Canada?

Really the only problem with Vancouver is cost of housing and basic needs, otherwise it's quite a nice city in my view.

We would certainly choose Vancouver over anywhere else in the province, but...

Re: Is anyone else massively disappointed in Canada?

Upside to not having a kid early is I got to do some travel, downside if we ever have a kid, we might very well be too old to travel once said kid is grown......

Re: Is anyone else massively disappointed in Canada?

Yep. Once that student debt hits all bets are off for a few years...

I am not even sure if the US plays nice enough for USC's to get WHV in various countries, but had I even known they...

Re: Is anyone else massively disappointed in Canada?

My wife traveled quite often in her younger days. Spent most of her summers in her first 14 years in Europe visiting the grandparents, when they died, the summer visits stopped.

But she also spent...

Re: Is anyone else massively disappointed in Canada?

Probably a good guess, along with money earned having to go towards school, and living costs.

Parents likely can't fully fund the education and a gap year unless fairly well off.

Graduating...

Re: Is anyone else massively disappointed in Canada?

Cuba and Mexico are warm climates and within a reasonable flight from Canada, and with limited vacation time people have, and it's no real surprise people stay closer to home with trips there or to...

Re: Is anyone else massively disappointed in Canada?

I worked 60 hours a week at 20, it was the only way I could get the time off I needed to travel. I only got 10 days off per year. I'd work for others so they would work for me. I doubt I would have...

Re: Is anyone else massively disappointed in Canada?

I just can't figure out how anyone pays for all the travel. Boggles my mind, but I guess I am not 20, and I didn't have the ability to travel and work around the world..... I had no idea those type...

Re: Is anyone else massively disappointed in Canada?

That said I got to fly free or nearly free, had it not been for that would have...

Re: Is anyone else massively disappointed in Canada?
