Cheapness of builders is pretty common in Canada too, unless your building a custom home every step of the way, you can bet the contractors will cut every corner they possibly can to save a buck.

Anyone have knowledge on mini-splits ductless systems?

Not as grand as most of your projects, but I put the wooden thinger (not sure what its called) along the patio because the dog kept trying to jump off, she could wiggle her body under the railing...

Down payment varies in Canada depending on the sale price, can be anywhere from 5% to 20% minimum and if your a first time home buyer.

If we owned the unit we lived in, I think I would paint it, needs a nice new coat of paint and maybe a different color, this off white isn't my cup of tea. But we rent, and I am certainly not going...

It does come on from time to time on it's own, but not often.

The closest is outside the bathroom, one wall borders the bathroom, but the closet itself and the closet door is completely outside...

Bathroom fans and sensors, I understand in theory the it detects humidity rising and supposed to turn the fan on, but why put the sensor inside a closet that isn't even in the bathroom where the fan...

Our current apartment has that stuff on the front door, and they even botches that when building the place, I had to add some foam weather stripping to keep the cold air out. I swear 5th graders...

Up until this year our town let people burn yard waste with a permit (was free) from the fire department, but this year they banned them outright as the town is not rural any more.
