My sentiments (almost) exactly. We came here cos we could ski (almost) on the doorstep and the sun shone more often.

Shouldnt we be concreting over all the 'green' space we can find?

Sorry I forgot to edit to add civilised is not a word that springs to mind about Western Canada in general.:o
(and yes I live in western Canada and with the possible exception of Montreal wouldnt...
