true for most of GCC although I'd put the number at around 600 with 580 in bin for Oman

it's normally the other way around - husband finds work, wife gets bored as kids get older and decides to go back into teaching

Until a couple of years ago, my company had explicitly in the HR policy manual contracts that specified your allowances based on if you were an Eastern Hire or a Western...

For me, personally, absolutely no way would we go to a country on a single salary less than we could be happy on, in the hope that one of us would get a job to make it liveable, and bring our child...

Only you can judge. If it was me, I'd want a 30k package + housing + schooling + flights + medical to make sure my family had a comfortable life without incurring more debt; to be able to pay for car...

me too - I don't think it's enough to feel safe, and here in the ME you will always need enough money to get on a flight and leave immediately.

food I would personally say costs around...
