Well, that's the point of progressive taxation isn't it. I'm not sure what you are trying to say given that pretty much every country does this.

Maybe. Although you would be relying on appreciation > 2% p.a otherwise it's not much of an investment is it. Might as well leave the cash in the bank :lol:

Well, you can same the same for Vancouver probably. Although property taxes where I live are over double the council tax I used to pay and that's with a home-owner discount (houses are similarly...

Maybe a better term would be "progressive". If you can afford multiple houses then you get taxed more on the ones you don't live in.

It's a nice city. The only real problem it has is that a lot of the people that live there are insufferably smug about it.

Long time readers will know that right back in 2008/9 I thought this market would crash already. Well I got that wrong; 7 years later...
