The Mrs has been resistant to getting a freezer - we have two fridge freezers, so why do we need a dedicated freezer? Solely on the buying stuff when it’s on special argument it would seem to pay....

I've not reall noticed gaps on the supermarket shelves here, or at least no more than is usual in the winter, if the ferries can't run because of the weather. The exception being Costco's cool room...

Generally the only lamb available in this neck of the woods comes from New Zealand and is frozen. Stupidly expensive at $40odd for a decent leg roast so like you its a once a year or so thing for us....

Living, as we do, at the end of a long Supply Chain our choice, even in metro St John's is limited. Essentially we have Dominion (aka Loblaws), Sobeys, No Frills & Colemans which is a local chain....

Ohh good spot. AAA beef as well. Often I find that when Loblaws (Dominion here) have beef on special its AA. Ok for stews etc but not as good for roasts.

I think I posted about this a while back. Our local Costco had frozen whole lambs. Quite how one goes about formatting a whole frozen lamb is rather beyond me. Presumably power tools are required....

Yes. Plastic seems to be the root (no pun intended) cause of vegetables going rotten, even in the fridge, Of course everything bought (we're long through what we've grown in the short growing season...
