It's not anything to do with positive momentum of the £, more to do with money markets rushing to the U.S. dollar putting negative pressure on the Cdn dollar.;)

Are you sure about that?

An awful lot of raw materials are going west these days to China and other countries.

It will likely lower mortgage rates but I seriously doubt it will have any lowering effect on house prices.

It hasn't in the past there's no reason to think it will now.

93 cents is the official exchange rate if you were to sell US dollars at the TD Bank you'd only get 91.36 cents Canadian for them.

Spot price at the close today $2.0690

If you want to buy Canadian dollars at the TD bank you'll only get $2.0304 :eek::(

Not helping either I presume is the fact the Canadian dollar is very strong against the U.S. dollar at the moment. (0.9711)

If the spot price is 2.0712 as it currently is what does the average...

According to the CBC Money (http://www.cbc.ca/money/) page of their website the official exchange for the UK Pound is 2.1033 CDN.
