The reason it goes via the IRS is that HMRC requires the IRS to certify that you are completing your tax returns and paying tax in the USA. It seems HMRC have a sneaky suspicion that you might tell...

If it is as simple as just getting the OAP, then most people do not need to complete any forms. The OAP is for most less than the tax free allowance each year, so gets paid without tax deducted. If...

Is it not a one off payment, when you first register to have that income exempted from UK tax. I put three of my UK incomes on one form and filed that and have only done so once, three years ago.
