Re: MLS

Aston Villa are playing the Timbers later this month. Hopefully as it's preseason training Villa will not play their starters and give the second string the majority of the game. Otherwise it could...

Re: MLS

The Timbers midfield is three steps too slow, and Boyd has the same problem Cooper had, by the time the midfield player goes to put the cross in they have been shut down. They hang onto the ball too...

Re: MLS

Do you see the Timbers now have the Sheffield Wednesday Academy coach Sean McAuley as the assistant coach. Would have thought Sean Dyce would have been a good choice seeing as Watford have let him...

Re: MLS

Portland - that would be the team that sack one of the only two people in the organization who has a clue how the game is played.

Cracking goals by Becks well worth watching the game to see.

Re: MLS

John Spencer has put a rocket under the Timbers, they are playing much better first half tonight. Defense is still bad but not as bad, attack has some speed and snap at last. See what happens second...

Re: MLS

Ajax and West Brom are coming to Portland. Problem is the EPL clubs that come over, it is the preseason warm up and they often don't play their first team players, or just a few.

Re: MLS

Goal was well taken, and the Salt Lake goalie was good, but overall not a very skillful game.

Re: MLS

The Timbers v Salt Lake game was fun to watch, as long as you didn't worry about the quality of the football.

Re: MLS

What makes it disheartening, is that is the best I've seen the Timbers play. Still they have great supprt in Portland, and as long as the supporters stick with them I think Merritt Paulson has got...

Re: MLS

Didn't get to see it last night, first of the Council budget setting sessions. Recorded it so will watch today. Interesting to see if he has managed to find a defense from somewhere.

Re: MLS

Portland scored a goal last game and got a draw, they have lost the other two MLS games. It was lead item on the 10pm news on one local station. You'd have thought the second coming had arrived. It...

Re: MLS

Not sure of the total number. Last year is was around 15000, but the ground was enlarged over the winter for the new MLS team. Only tickets left are single game and then not very many. At least five...

Re: MLS

Oh well I guess I was sort of hoping it might been reasonable Championship level but if it isn't that good then the Timbers may well fit in. What is amazing playing as bad as they do they have just...

MLS

Does anyone watch MLS here. Just started as Portland Timbers are an MLS team this season, but was surprised at the low standard of the games I've seen. About on a par with a mid division one teams in...
