Temperature went back up to around zero, and now we've got a blizzard outside. Or what looks like one, from my sofa.

Yeah, I was surprised to find frozen rain on my car last night. But it didn't seem to cause any problems on the roads.

I've done it at -53C windchill temperature, and it wasn't too bad. Another 14 degrees might get a bit too chilly for my taste, though.

This is why we always check it's closed before we drive away :).

Though, in our case, it's usually due to a chunk of ice getting stuck to the bottom of the door and triggering the sensor.

Main reason we'd want one would be for the furnace, and that's wired directly to the power with no plug to switch over to a generator. Not worth spending the money to rewire everything for the few...

There's a reason I now have a battery heater as well as a block heater. Made starting easy today at 30 below zero.

What did surprise me today is how much the engine rpms drop (and fuel economy...
