Re: 1.93's A$ to the Pound!!!

I didn't think it had, unless Uncle Bob had magically decided that the ZIM$ was now at parity with the ZAR, or something else crazy that only he could do...

Re: 1.93's A$ to the Pound!!!

I imagine that there will be a rate hike next month though, so it will be...

Re: 1.93's A$ to the Pound!!!

Re: 1.93's A$ to the Pound!!!

It's done this because last week I ordered a computer system from the UK, so as soon as I make a reasonably large purchase, you can expect the exchange rate to head in a direction likely to frustrate...

Re: 1.93's A$ to the Pound!!!

Looks that way, despite the doomsayers:

Economy defies doomsayers (http://www.smh.com.au/business/miracle-economy-defies-the-doomsayers-20100901-14msq.html)

A lot of talk of inflationary...

Re: 1.93's A$ to the Pound!!!

I read some time ago that the AU$ was on the verge of moving from exotic currency status towards being a mainstream one. Maybe this will support that move...

Re: 1.93's A$ to the Pound!!!

I believe that can be done, just not sure if it represents a capital loss or an income loss - Unless I am mistaken, you can't offset a capital loss against an income loss and vice versa.

Re: 1.93's A$ to the Pound!!!

They don't/cant. If the exchange rate increases favourably after you arrive to stay, and you transfer your money over then, any increase in the AU$ value that is made between the time you arrive and...

Re: 1.93's A$ to the Pound!!!

Yes, I noticed that the cuts were something akin to a bubble rising in an ocean of debt. I doubt it will stop folk complaining when they did in though. The UK economy has got a very long way to go...

I may have to start investigating this myself, particularly as my super keeps...

Re: 1.93's A$ to the Pound!!!
