Re: Why did you choose to move to Canada?

My daughter works in the DTES, dresses oddly and is, well, one might kindly say "competitive" rather than "aggressive". I do hope she doesn't seem homeless and frightening on her lunch breaks there;...

Re: Why did you choose to move to Canada?

This is wrong, btw. My children were born in Ontario. Long gone now, of course.

Re: Why did you choose to move to Canada?

I wasn't joking. That's what the street looks like. I'm not comparing it to anywhere else, not by count of bums nor by degree of threat from the bums. I'm just saying there are just a lot of...

Re: Why did you choose to move to Canada?

Re: Why did you choose to move to Canada?

Well yes, but we shouldn't make a hard distinction. It was a co-worker I tried to pull from the Don Jail to go to a technical conference only to find they'd lost him in the system.

Anyone...

Re: Why did you choose to move to Canada?

Within 300 yards of this desk there are now certainly twenty, probably fifty, tattooed people with no obvious means of support, many of whom have the sunken cheeks and rotted teeth associated with...

Re: Why did you choose to move to Canada?

Re: Why did you choose to move to Canada?

A colleague has just taken a job in Toulouse or, as he would say, "Toulouse, France", in large part so the children in the family will acquire French. I'm rather looking forward to hearing their...

Re: Why did you choose to move to Canada?

Well, yes, you can't go into the woods in the summer nor the fields in winter but, with route adaptation, there's always somewhere adequate to walk the dog. I suppose the major difference in regard...

Re: Why did you choose to move to Canada?

I agree with the theme of this post but where can one not walk year round and in which season is it not possible?

Re: Why did you choose to move to Canada?

As others have said, it's relatively heavily populated.

If you can find work outside the GTA, as I have, then it might work. In our case we're on 10 acres, next to many acres of conservation...
