I like sailing. That doesn't imply wealth.

I don't think Southern Ontario has a spring to speak of, snow, one week of mud and it's summer. Mostly though I agree with you.

Not quite. I have lived in the Beach, downtown and in Mississauga but now live at the very limit of commutability, 75 miles from the CN tower.

Yes. In fact I have a mate who has a Jeep he got for nothing but cannot afford to insure so he uses the zip car share. There are several other schemes.

The problem with that is most of the cost of operating a car in Toronto is fixed, you have to pay for the license and insurance whether it moves or not. $2,500 a year would pay for a lot of taxis...

I suggest the Beach. At this point Novo tends to suggest Roncesvalles. The case for either of them is that they're interesting neighbourhoods in themselves, walking distance to, say, 100, restaurants...

I drove up the Allen the other week, leaving Church and Gerrard at four on a Tuesday afternoon it took a little over an hour to the 401. Toronto's not a good place for getting in to or out of.

I had some, er, traction issues on CR5 near nowhere in particular on Monday. That was a really bad day for driving, fortunately I had not enjoyed a long lunch. Always up for lunch at the Woolwich.
