Problem I have with this, is I'm about to undertake a project and all builders are telling me they cannot start for at least 6months. They are all booked out way ahead.

Could Australia be now experiencing the mass gain in relative wealth v the rest of the world, that the US saw in the 40s 50s and 60s ? Could it do this without a decent sized manufacturing industry...

Tell that to my Cousin who made circa Aud 500,000 in 11 years via buying 4 properties and living in a rental from 1994 through to 2005.

He bought 1 on the Gold Coast, 1 at Gladstone, 1 in Cairns...

The point I'm trying to make is for the first time I can recall, I can now buy probably 70 to 80 pct of a house in London, with a straight trade of my house. At one stage it was down below 50...

I think you'll find the average fulltime wage in Sydney is a lot higher than that.... at least 67,000 Aud at present.

The Median price in Melbourne, rose by 6.4 pct or 30,000 dollars last month. So the market needs cooling here.
