I don't understand why you did this. Your SSN is yours for life. Why did you not want to use it?

30 days in California, as far as I remember. All details are on the DMV website. I would definitely book an appointment though - wait times can be horrendous.

Also, our DMV required a SSA letter...

That's what we thought.

Let's just say that - for us! - it did not work out at all. 10 years later they seem lost, do not know where they belong, wanting to go back but fearful of fitting in...
